james turrrell : kinetic light artist
My work is about space and the light that inhabits it. It is about how you confront that space and plumb it with vision. It is about your seeing, like the wordless thought that comes from looking into fire. — James Turrell

James Turrell, contemporary light installation artist, has the ability to transform spaces with the simple use of light, inside and out. His installations create atmosphere, ambiance, and three dimensional realities in an already three dimensional world. Ranging in all different spectra of the rainbow, Turrell’s ideas take perhaps otherwise mundane spaces, and give way to something far deeper and richer in experimental interpretation. With a collection spanning all over the world, his works reach far beyond tangible. One can also find many written works and outdoor play such as the anti-twilight arch.
